Disgust
You feel disgust when you detect a toxin.
You feel the negative mental effect of disgust, for example, when you:

If you say somebody disgusts you for these reasons, you are trying to humiliate the other person. You are saying their rank has fallen to the level of fecal matter or rotting flesh. In other words, you are trying to lower their rank as low as possible - to maximize the humiliation they feel.
Disgust, bitter, sour and pain are similar.
All four are negative mental effects that help you avoid toxins or trauma. Disgust discourages you from eating toxic animal foods. Bitter discourages you from eating poisonous plants. Sour discourages you from eating rotting plants. Pain discourages you from activities that cause injury.
Disgust makes you frown.
You frown involuntarily when you feel disgust. You also frown involuntarily when you feel bitter, sour or pain.
